2-Layer Pellets for Masterbatches

image PLASiST has innovated manufacturing process of double-layered pellets, each having its core/sheath structure.
The process is unique in that it makes polymer masterbatches by sheathing core materials as is otherwise, difficult to extrude, forming low quality strands with major concerns of brittleness; adherence; and a lack of ability to withstand process heating.

The sheath/core process is most advantageous when applied to:

  • polymers with high loading of pigments and additives to improve its characteristics brittleness;
  • polymers with surface "sticking" characteristics to improve pellet adherence concerns;
  • polymers sensitive to heat to ensure safe exposure to high drying temperatures.
    ( amorphous polyester, etc. )
We are also engaged in the toll-production of the 2-layered pellets and ready to offer custom pelleting upon requests by customers.
Patents are applied at home and abroad for the process and products.
